Review For All Together

All Together is precisely the sort of picture that many have been missing from Hollywood.
Stanley Kauffmann-The New Republic

It's too bad the filmmaker felt the need to lighten his unvarnished observations about aging with "cute" stuff.
Sheri Linden-Los Angeles Times

A dour Gallic comedy about five septuagenarian friends living comfortably in the outskirts of Paris who decide to share a house rather than move into retirement homes.
Stephen Holden-New York Times

The film's central performances reflect both its celebration of age and a sense of wistfulness.
Joel Arnold-NPR

Minutes and minutes of cute comedy ensue.
Wesley Morris-Boston Globe

The acting is solid, and the maturity of vision mixed with humor should appeal to the same audience that turned The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel into such an unexpected runaway hit.
Rex Reed-New York Observer

Things proceed amusingly enough, even when the emergence of old deceptions threatens to veer into melodrama.
Marc Mohan-Oregonian

A French dramady about five friends who discover the advantages and challenges to communal living.
Frederic and Mary Ann Brussat-Spirituality and Practice

Writer-director Stéphane Robelin pictures a unique approach to getting old for a group of French friends, aided by a can-do and very glamorous transplanted American played by Jane Fonda.
Marsha McCreadie-Film Journal International

The film is somewhat flimsy, tinged with the impulse to make the elderly characters just the right amount of ridiculous for the benefit of younger viewers.
Andrew Schenker-Slant Magazine

It's too conventional to be another 'Best Exotic Marigold Hotel' but features light touches of Gallic comedy and the right degree of sentiment.
Harvey S. Karten-Compuserve

This could have been a deep, depressing film but director Stéphane Robelin has kept things light... and it works.
Matthew Toomey-ABC Radio Brisbane

Finding an alternative to the dreaded retirement home is the basic trigger point for this film, much as it was for the fabulously successful Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. But that's where similarities end.
Andrew L. Urban-Urban Cinefile

It's not as clunky as Late Bloomers which managed to make a mockery of journeying into old age, but Robelin offers little charm and no solutions in his story about five friends who opt to live together in their autumn years
Louise Keller-Urban Cinefile

Watch Barbara Movie with Full HD Format

Winner of the Best Director prize at this year's Berlin Film Festival, the latest film from Christian Petzold (Yella, Jerichow) is a simmering, impeccably crafted Cold War thriller, starring the gifted Nina Hoss-in her fifth lead role for the director-as a Berlin doctor banished to a rural East German hospital as punishment for applying for an exit visa. As her lover from the West carefully plots her escape, Barbara waits patiently and avoids friendships with her colleagues-except for Andre (Ronald Zehrfeld) the hospital's head physician, who is warmly attentive to her. But even as she finds herself falling for him, Barbara still cannot be sure that Andre is not a spy. As her defensive wall slowly starts to crumble, she is eventually forced to make a profound decision about her future. A film of glancing moments and dangerous secrets, BARBARA paints a haunting picture of a woman being slowly crushed between the irreconcilable needs of desire and survival. Germany's official Oscar submission for Best Foreign Language Film.

Movie Overview For Barbara

Summer, 1980. Barbara, a doctor, has applied for an exit visa from the GDR (East Germany). Now, as punishment, she has been transferred from Berlin to a small hospital out in the country, far from everything. Jörg, her lover from the West, is already planning her escape. Barbara waits, keeping to herself. The new apartment, the neighbors, summertime, the countryside â€" none of that means anything to her. Working as a pediatric surgeon under her new boss Andre, she is attentive when it comes to the patients, but quite distanced toward her colleagues. Her future, she feels, will begin later. But Andre confuses her. His confidence in her professional abilities, his caring attitude, his smile. Why does he cover for her when she helps the young runaway Sarah? Does he have an assignment to keep track of her? Is he in love? But as the day of her planned escape quickly approaches, Barbara starts to lose control. Over herself, her plans, over love.

Review For Barbara

It persuades us early on that its aura of political tension and suspicion, its taciturnity, its very strictness of silent observation as it begins, are fostering an intelligent thriller.
Stanley Kauffmann-The New Republic

Though the film runs a mere 105 minutes, it weighs on viewers like an eternity.
Colin Covert-Minneapolis Star Tribune

The movie examines the possibility of maintaining one's humanity in a truly oppressive society.
Walter V. Addiego-San Francisco Chronicle

Hoss, wearing her blond hair pulled back tight, and wearing an expression of inscrutable melancholy, gives a performance that doesn't feel like a performance at all.
Steven Rea-Philadelphia Inquirer

The occasional ravings of the patients, ringing off the walls in Petzold's measured quiet, provide an appropriate backdrop to the heroine's need for freedom, yet the movie's politics never trump its humanity.
J. R. Jones-Chicago Reader

This is well-trod ground for Petzold, but never has it been so fully realized, so palpable, as in "Barbara."
Sheila O'Malley-Chicago Sun-Times

Barbara offers us historically motivated immorality offset by some heartfelt sensitivity, a side order of depression, and finishes off with some ennobling hope. It's definitely one of the best foreign films of the year.
Elias Savada-Film Threat

This is a remarkably subtle movie, spending most of its energy zeroing in on the clenched face of its heroine, looking for cracks.
Jeffrey M. Anderson-Combustible Celluloid

A low-key, tenuous romance characterised by its sparse, deliberately paced storytelling.
Aaron Yap-Flicks.co.nz

A quietly absorbing character study.
Chris Hewitt (St. Paul)-St. Paul Pioneer Press

Isn't a tightly wound story of sacrifice, yet its distance is alluring, retaining secrets and motivations, building to a satisfying conclusion.
Brian Orndorf-Blu-ray.com

An intelligent, mature love triangle...It also functions as a tense, rarefied thriller about escape from a police state, as well the kind of medical procedural drama audiences gorge upon.
Richard von Busack-MetroActive

That sense of nervous dislocation that the viewer feels in the first few scenes - Where am I? Who is this person? Is she friend or foe? - efficently evokes the muted terror that its characters feel.
Rob Thomas-Capital Times (Madison, WI)

Petzold renders Communist oppression in a provocatively muted manner.
Ben Kenigsberg-Time Out Chicago

Stories of characters like Barbara continue to have meaning, even in a "free" society.
Kelly Vance-East Bay Express

Engrossing Cold War thriller and love story set in East Germany in 1980.
Dennis Schwartz-Ozus' World Movie Reviews

In short, the failures in storytelling detract from the film, despite its sensitivities, its subtleties and its final payoff of personal sacrifice.
Andrew L. Urban-Urban Cinefile

A meticulously crafted drama in which the depiction of character, place and circumstance evolves slowly and with intrigue, Barbara is gripping cinema
Louise Keller-Urban Cinefile

This well acted political melodrama, set during the Cold War, is Germany's entry for the Best Foreign Language Oscar.
Emanuel Levy-EmanuelLevy.Com

Hoss' outstanding performance is a deep well of subtle yet unmistakable motives and reactions.
Jeff Meyers-Metro Times (Detroit, MI)

Watch 20 Feet From Stardom Movie with Full HD Format

Millions know their voices, but no one knows their names. In his compelling new film 20 FEET FROM STARDOM, award-winning director Morgan Neville shines a spotlight on the untold true story of the backup singers behind some of the greatest musical legends of the 21st century. Triumphant and heartbreaking in equal measure, the film is both a tribute to the unsung voices who brought shape and style to popular music and a reflection on the conflicts, sacrifices and rewards of a career spent harmonizing with others. These gifted artists span a range of styles, genres and eras of popular music, but each has a uniquely fascinating and personal story to share of life spent in the shadows of superstardom. Along with rare archival footage and a peerless soundtrack, 20 FEET FROM STARDOM boasts intimate interviews with Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Wonder, Mick Jagger and Sting to name just a few. However, these world-famous figures take a backseat to the diverse array of backup singers whose lives and stories take center stage in the film. (c) TWC-Radius

This film festival favorite is a genuine crowd pleaser, meant to right a few wrongs in the music industry, offer a window into the lives of some hard-charging entertainers, and above all make audiences leave the theater humming a song.

Diva Velez-TheDivaReview.com

20 Feet from Stardom has it all -- electric, revelatory stories, engaging personalities, and a gusto that takes you higher and higher.
Michael Sragow-Orange County Register

The rich Rhythm and Blues music of rock's early days is the best of the best.
Robin Clifford-Reeling Reviews

Its stories are so rich in detail -- and, alternately, humor, heartache and triumph -- that one will leave never quite being able to listen to the FM dial in quite the same way.
Brent Simon-Shared Darkness

If you think the music industry is based on talent, think again, because some of the most dynamic singers in the business are virtual unknowns...
Laura Clifford-Reeling Reviews

Regardless of musical preference, this worthwhile documentary that pays tribute to backup singers is a crowd-pleaser.
Todd Jorgenson-Cinemalogue.com

Want a feel-good movie this summer? Have I got the DOCUMENTARY for you!
Pete Hammond-Movieline

A musical and historical treasure, a deep reflection on the vagaries of fame. Candid and moving, 20 Feet From Stardom is an unforgettable portrayal of some magnificent performers.
Jason Gorber-Twitch

A must see for anyone interested in the crossroads between performing talent and business.
Jordan Hoffman-ScreenCrush

Above all, the movie works thanks to its doggedly personal focus, with the subjects given a rare chance to shape their own narratives.
Robert Levin-amNewYork

The pantheon gets its overdue spotlight in Morgan Neville's "Twenty Feet From Stardom," a documentary nearly as glorious as the voices it celebrates.

Watch Greedy Lying Bastards Movie with Full HD Format

Hurricane Sandy. Wildfires in the West. "Brown-Outs" in the East. Farmers losing crops to the worst drought since the Dust Bowl. Climate change is no longer a prediction for the future, but a startling reality of today. Yet, as evidence of our changing climate mounts and the scientific consensus proves human causation, there continues to be no political action to thwart the warming of our planet. "Greedy Lying Bastards" investigates the reason behind stalled efforts to tackle climate change despite consensus in the scientific community that it is not only a reality but also a growing problem placing us on the brink of disaster. The film details the people and organizations casting doubt on climate science and claims that greenhouse gases are not affected by human behavior. From the Koch Brothers to ExxonMobil, to prominent Senators and Justices, this provocative exposé unravels the layers of deceit threatening U.S. democracy. -- (C) Official Site

Review For Greedy Lying Bastards

As much as it hopes to incite outrage and to stir a complacent body politic into action, [it] never quite rises to the level of urgency the subject requires.
Bruce Demara-Toronto Star

A blistering attack on politicians, propagandists, dissemblers and other climate-change deniers.
John Hartl-Seattle Times

The film's effectiveness largely stems from the flat-out lameness of the opposition arguments, the lack of scientific credentials of those making them, and the self-interest of their corporate bosses.
Ronnie Scheib-Variety

Filmmaker Craig Scott Rosebraugh seems to take a kind of perverse glee in hauling out the worst offenders among what he calls the climate change deniers for public shaming.
Michael O'Sullivan-Washington Post

What's next, "Big Oil Is Full of Meanies"?
Kyle Smith-New York Post

The film makes its case well. The problem, though, is it seems a bit late.
Tom Long-Detroit News

T'Cha Dunlevy-Montreal Gazette

The well-intentioned film includes plenty of statistics and makes its stance clear, but the familiarity of the subject matter decreases its impact.

An entertaining expose of the industry-paid deniers and how they continue to muddle the climate-change "debate."
Sean Means-Salt Lake Tribune

Not the most eloquent "outrage doc."

Provocative, vital and enraging. It goes further than An Inconvenient Truth.

Rosebraugh's arguments are sound and his heart is in the right place, but his execution is self-defeating.
Leah Churner-Austin Chronicle

Exposes why nothing much is being done about global warming and its toxic effects, and just which fossil fuel capitalists are profiting from that. Along with the power of propaganda in their bid to control the related national conversation.

The

Review For The Watch

A film packaged as pure product, aiming to snare the combined markets for loudmouth comics, sci-fi action and, er, Richard Ayoade - who, however seemingly misplaced, is the freshest thing here.
Guy Lodge-Time Out

It's a mash-up of blah buddy comedy and gross-out CGI monster splatter, with nary a laugh to be had.
Peter Rainer-Christian Science Monitor

The Watch is a predictable and lazy comedy wrapped around a penis joke occasionally enlivened with some funny lines.
Linda Barnard-Toronto Star

What should have been at least Ghostbusters lite ends up sliming audiences with sloppy seconds.
Peter Travers-Rolling Stone

"The Watch" takes the same ethos of male bonding, obsession with sex and sardonic violence that has proved so profitable in recent years on yet another summer spin.
Ann Hornaday-Washington Post

Improvisation is definitely The Watch-word, with Vaughn and Hill in particular winging just about every line they speak - most of them filthy, few of them funny.
Rick Groen-Globe and Mail

Rote, crass and worst of all, totally laugh-free, it inspires you to exact your own brand of vigilante justice.
Al Alexander-The Patriot Ledger

Light entertainment at its lightest, The Watch does at least elicit some laughs.
Tom Glasson-Concrete Playground

"The Watch" is a Dream Team in which no one's drawn up any plays and nobody passes the ball. Everybody just shoots and hopes for the best.
Tim Grierson-Deadspin

This lame sci-fi comedy was supposed to be for teens, but was re-written by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg to be aimed at adults. The result is a movie that doesn't work for either.
Eric Melin-Scene-Stealers.com

Bland and juvenile, with little thought, humour, or imagination. It actually endorses its posse of puerile nobodies as noble, ass-kicking Americans.
Brian Gibson-Vue Weekly (Edmonton, Canada)

A talented cast shines brightly, but can't carry the weight of this under-inspired sci-fi frolic.
Michael Sauter-Film Journal International

For a flabby 101-minute movie, the gag hit rate is alarmingly low.
Andy Lea-Daily Star

Aims for ridiculous comedy, hits "ridiculous"
Marty Mapes-Movie Habit

The aliens may be not of this Earth, but the jokes in this lifeless sci-fi comedy are so lazy they never even manage to lift off.
Jason Buchanan-TV Guide's Movie Guide

The only arcs these characters encounter are in their pants.
Adam Ross-The Aristocrat

If the scenes between the four leads had been stronger, it might have been easier to overlook the film's structural and tonal weaknesses, but as it happens they only rescue it in dribs and drabs.
Martin Roberts-Fan The Fire

The Watch is a lazy production at nearly every level. Expect these aliens to have better luck in a couple years - when they invade basic cable.
Ben Kendrick-ScreenRant

All of this builds a pretty catastrophic picture of The Watch - and I think, given how many other awesome, funny, gross and clever comedies are out there, I refuse to be an apologist. It's not an unmitigated disaster, but it's not good - or good enough.
Patrick Kolan-Shotgun Critic

... one of the funniest movies of the year.
Jim Lane-Sacramento News & Review

the story regularly dozes off and wakes up in other places, squinting its eyes and groping in the dark for laughs.
Luke Buckmaster-Crikey

It's one of those sad occasions where the bringing together of funny people mysteriously negates their ability to be funny.
Jim Schembri-3AW

The Watch is an utterly soulless, lazy, painfully dull affair. It is not a film. It is a product, and an awful one. This is one of the worst movies I have ever seen.
Jonathan Lack-We Got This Covered

There may be plenty of studio comedies that are better than this film, but there are more that are worse.
Dominic Corry-Flicks.co.nz

The Watch doesn't totally know what it is - but that doesn't matter. It's entertaining, silly fun, if you like gaggles of fools stumbling upon alien invasions and d*ck jokes.
Blake Howard-2UE That Movie Show

The Watch is indeed a feathered fish. It's a freaking underwater ostrich. Whether or not it will appeal to all four quadrants is of little concern to any viewer lucky enough to be located within its niche demographic, however.
